The Underdogs by Mike Lupica Book Reviews

Unverdogs Major and Minor. Alone with his ball, alone on this field, no teammates or opponents there to see him trip and go down, nobody to see somebody this good at football look so bad.

Tyler finds a way to get a sponsor to put up the money to allow the school to field a team. When he gets underdog that the company is going to sponsor tthe team, Will thinks their troubles are over-until he summafy that several families are leaving Forbes for towns with more promise of jobs. If the conflict was better maybe someone could read the book.

Will takes a chance, writes to a national company and comes up with the funds to keep the team going. She is very athletic and arrogant. He figures that everyone was leaving and that made it a harder challenge for him. Through out the book he would always act like it was just him on the field and nobody else.

Will Tyler didn’t like it, and I’m pretty sure, if you were in his shoes, you wouldn’t either. I can describe this book as mediocre, I consider the story great but I thin Underdogs: I highly recommend it to anyone who likes sports or likes Mike Lupica. Will did everything considering the circumstances, he even mailed a letter to a factory to see if they thd sponsor the team to get money.

While the plot reads like a feel-good Hollywood movie, even Lupica’s minor characters have depth and the dialogue rings true.
