There are hints of classmates’ lives not being as simple as he assumes, but I think it will take another volume or two before I get really invested in these people. I’m looking forward to continuing this in Volume 2. To ask other readers questions about Silver Spoon, Vol. Sep 07, Anna C rated it it was amazing Shelves: I’ve only read through Vol. For Fullmetal Alchemist manga, Arakawa had read alchemy-related books, which she found very complicated due to the fact that some books contradicted others. There is no single overarching plot line yet, beyond the protagonist’s insecurity or sense of inferiority about not having a plan for life after high school–that might strike a chord with readers in similar situations.

This manga gives insight into Japan’s agricultural sector through the eyes of a boy from the city. Gemma provides vital clues about the place where she was held captive. Butuh uang, kesempatan, hoki, kemampuan, karakteristik dll juga. Going into “Silver Spoon”, I had no idea initially that there is an entire genre of anime and manga out there that focus on the concept of an idyllic country life and how much better it is than living in the big city or suburbs. There’s the Expy PE coach who looks almost exactly like Major Alexander Armstrong, the upperclassman who looks like Greed , or even Hachiken’s classmate Nishikawa , who looks to me a little like the bastard lovechild of Ling Yao and Yoki. His awkwardness and shock to the unfamiliar agricultural world provides infinite humor. Hiromu Arakawa does have a farming background, so at least every agricultural detail is authentic.

He has no goals beyond that and, faced with the dreams and focus of his I think it will take me another volume to decide about this series. I remember the comedy in FMA being hilarious on both of my rereads, because it’s some relief from all the drama and tragedy that takes place throughout the story. Nah, sekarang karena lagi pengen baca yg slice of life tanpa romance, jadi dicobain deh komik yg topiknya pertanian dan peternakan ini, apalagi ini karya Arakawa-sensei, sudah terjamin kualitasnya.

The conclusion of the situation was that Yugo learned some important things from the incident and it motivated him for his plans in future – which involved using his friends individuality for creating a business.

Hiromu Arakawa is a wonderful storyteller, and “Silver Spoon” is no exception to her skills. While investigating Simon’s father’s disappearance Mark uncovers a dangerous lead. My first full manga in Japanese!

銀の匙 Silver Spoon 1 [Gin no Saji Silver Spoon 1] by Hiromu Arakawa

In this first volume, we see Hachiken epissode his best to adapt to life in his new environment where he’s almost totally out of his element, but is surrounded by helpful and enthusiastic classmates who offer him friendship and support he’s not used to. I am a very lazy person and once again Ssoishot could relate to Yugo’s routine and his frustration over working hard, but he comes around and begins to enjoy it. Thanks for telling us about the problem. There’s a hoard of humor, to start with.

It’s a fish-out-of-water story that a lot of us who don’t kno It might be a totally different genre, but this has Arakawa-sensei written all over it.

But if you take away the fact that it’s an sowishot farming school, it’s a story that most of us are probably living, and it makes you hopeful and happy; it’s thought-provoking, it has life-lessons, it has the ups and downs of school life like tests and clubs, and overall it’s sosixhot in the same way that Full Metal Alchemist is gripping. Waking up a 5 am to help out with the chickens, having to join a club and most of them are sportsand then I am not even talking about the physical test they have to take. Protagonist Yuugo’s first encounters with the cheerful brutality of farm realities were pretty hilarious, and it’s fun to watch him grow into his new experiences.

Surely Hachiken knew what he was getting himself into. So far, I’m really liking this goofy-but-real manga about a “normal” Japanese kid in an agricultural high school.

Standard Hiromu Arakawa, with exaggerated characters, dynamic linework and expressions. View all 4 comments. I’m still very curious about why Hachiken is attending Oezo. And the more you look at the pages, the funnier it gets. Of course, I am delighted that the anime followed the manga this closely, but it does give a problem if someon I saw this anime back when it aired, and with no news of a third season I decided to read the manga.

TV Premiere Dates

I actually went to one when Sodishot was living in Japan and it was really exciting! Oh ho ho, he finds out the hard way that this school is practically a camp, more like a hell than heaven. In fact, the reason why Hachiken is attending Oezo is never really made clear. There’s a beauty to simplicity. There is no single overarching plot line yet, beyond the protagonist’s insecurity or sense of inferiority about not having a plan for life after high school–that might strike a chord with readers in similar situations.

銀の匙 Silver Spoon 1 [Gin no Saji Silver Spoon 1]

So you have this wonderful scene where Hachiken experiences the wonder of a sunset as seen from atop a horse but you also see his shock at finding out how eggs are laid suffice it to say that I don’t blame him for losing his appetite.

Apalagi sekolah yang dijadikan latar sepertinya ada aslinya, kalau melihat cerita tambahan mangakanya. And really, it’s written by the same mangaka as FMA, so how could you go wrong?!

However, in a world where I often find myself reading stories with high stakes action and dramatic life-or-death action hero maneuvers, it’s beautiful to sit back and read a story about the daily lives of students at an agricultural vocational high school. episoode

I’m appreciating the nuance already, be it Hachiken and Ichirou’s differences, or how Hachiken watches a piglet continue to pick the disadvantaged position even when it has the option to move forward. One of episde things I love about manga is that they can cover almost any subject.
